Quick answer — What is full-fat yogurt & fruit breakfast?

A no-cook breakfast or snack pairing full-fat, unsweetened yogurt with mashed soft fruit — a gentle way to introduce dairy as an allergen alongside genuinely useful fat and calories babies need. Always choose full-fat, plain yogurt; low-fat and flavoured varieties aren't suitable for under-2s.

Babies need the fat that full-fat dairy provides for brain development — this is one of the few places where "full-fat" is specifically the right choice, unlike the rest of the family's diet.

## Ingredients

 * 3-4 tbsp full-fat plain yogurt (not low-fat, not flavoured)
* 1/4 ripe banana or a few soft berries, mashed

## Method

 * Mash the fruit until smooth or lightly textured, depending on your baby's stage.
* Stir through the yogurt, or serve them side by side for baby to combine themselves.

## Tips

 * Squash blueberries and other round fruits before serving to under-5s — whole round fruits are a choking hazard.
* This is a good vehicle for introducing dairy as an allergen for the first time — offer a small amount and watch for any reaction.

## Weaning safety reminders

No honey before 12 months (infant botulism risk). No added salt or sugar. Cut round
foods (grapes, cherry tomatoes) in quarters, not halves. Always supervise your baby
while they eat, sitting upright, and check food has cooled to a safe temperature.
